Gerald M. Loughlin, MD Professor and Chairman

Welcome to the Department of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medical College. Our Department has a long and distinguished tradition of leadership in pediatric care, education, and research.

We are committed to maintaining this tradition, and have launched a major renaissance of the Department to prepare for the challenges and opportunities of 21st century academic medicine. With the help of major philanthropic investments in pediatrics, the leadership of Weill Cornell Medical College and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital has identified the development of pediatric programs as a priority.

The Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children's Health is creating a "pediatric hospital within a hospital" at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. We have recruited new divisional faculty and initiated renovation of our clinical, academic, and research space. We have also launched major programs in patient safety and family centered care.

Our Department is committed to maintaining the quality of care for our patients and their families at the highest level while offering an unparalleled educational experience for our students, residents, and fellows.
