This course is designed for academic pediatric gastroenterologists, GI fellows, pediatricians, nurse practitioners and other health care professionals to provide new developments in diagnosis and treatment on various topics in the field of pediatric gastroenterology.

The purpose of this course is to provide a comprehensive understanding of gastroenterologic complaints affecting the pediatric population. The conference will address recent advances in research, diagnosis and treatment.

It will also offer updates on the latest developments in the specialty. The activity hopes to lead to improved patient care by educating health care professionals in new treatment options and utilization of diagnostic tools.

Some of the topics the conference will explore include:

-- Inflammatory Bowel Disease
-- Respiratory Presentations of GERD
-- Medical and Surgical Management of Liver Failure in Children
-- Advances in Celiac Disease


COURSE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

This education activity is approved for 5.5 Category 1 credits. It is intended that this Weill Cornell CME activity will lead to improved patient care. At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

1. Understand the signs and symptoms of the diseases presented
2. Provide better diagnostic tools and treatment regimen to patients with conditions mentioned
3. Know the recent literature related to the topics
4. Understand new research findings and develop new treatment strategies
