"Thrombopoitin is Finally Here and What That Means To You," a talk by Dr. James Bussel, Medicine Grand Rounds, 6/26

The featured speaker at the Department of Medicine Grand Rounds on Thursday, June 26, 2008 will be Dr. James B. Bussel, Professor of Pediatrics and Professor of Pediatrics in Medicine. His talk is entitled, "Thrombopoietin is Finally Here and What That Means To You." Medicine Grand Rounds are held at 11:00 am in Uris Auditorium.

Dr. Bussel is a leading authority concerning Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP) and has a special expertise in the treatment of fetuses affected by alloimmune thrombocytopenia.

Dr. Bussel received his MD at the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York. He completed his Pediatric residency as well as a Pediatric Internship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital and then completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital. In addition to his professorships, Dr. Bussel is Attending Pediatrician at NewYork-Presybterian Hospital and Professor of Pediatrics in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
