NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is the only tri-state-area hospital listed on the 2009 U.S.News & World Report America's Best Children's Hospitals "Honor Roll" and one of only 10 children's hospitals in the nation to be ranked in all 10 clinical specialties.
The third annual "America's Best Children's Hospitals" rankings reflect reputation, volume and other patient-care-related factors. NewYork-Presbyterian is the only New York hospital to rank in all ten clinical specialties reported in the 2009 U.S.News & World Report "America's Best Children's Hospitals" issue. NewYork-Presbyterian also ranks among the top 10 children's hospitals nationwide in four categories: Neonatal Care (#6), Pediatric Heart and Heart Surgery (#6), Pediatric Diabetes/Endocrine Disorders (#7) and Pediatric Neurology & Neurosurgery (#7). In addition, NewYork-Presbyterian ranks within the top 20 children's hospitals nationwide in Pediatric Cancer, Pediatric Digestive Disorders, Pediatric Kidney Disorders, Pediatric Respiratory Disorders and Pediatric Urology.
The ranking accounts for NewYork-Presbyterian's two major centers for children's health care: NewYork-Presbyterian Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children's Health and NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. The full rankings will be published in the August edition of U.S. News "Best Hospitals" issue, available on newsstands July 21.

"At NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, which includes Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital and the Komansky Center for Children's Health, caring for children means much more than providing the best-available medical care in all clinical specialty areas. Through our affiliation with two of the nation's leading medical colleges --Weill Cornell Medical College and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons -- our pediatric specialists are continually introducing new advanced treatment options," says Dr. Herbert Pardes, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. "At the same time, we strive to create a safe and comforting environment that fosters health and healing for our youngest patients and their families."
"We are proud to be counted again as one of the nation's leading children's hospitals, something that is only possible through the talent and dedication of all our employees and clinical staff," adds Dr. Steven J. Corwin, executive vice president and Chief Operating Officer of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
