Weill Cornell Teen Weight Management Program helps teens maintain healthy weight
The Weill Cornell Teen Weight Management Program is a new weekly, interactive nutritional and behavioral wellness program for teens wanting to achieve healthier weight. Developed by
Dr. Maria Vogiatzi, the Division Chief of Pediatric Endocrinology, the program is multidisciplinary and uses an instructional team that includes a registered dietitian, a psychologist, a certified pediatric nurse practitioner, and a physical therapist.
The program is designed to give teenagers the nutritional tools and lifestyle skills to meet healthy and sustainable weight-loss goals. Class themes include:
- basic nutrition
- food labels
- tips for cooking, eating out and exercise
- incorporating active habits into daily living
