The Pediatric Support Team at the Komansky Center

A resource for families, patients and staff.

Comprised of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, and chaplains, the Pediatric Support Team at the Komansky Center for Children's Health has been formed to provide additional support for patients with chronic, life-limiting, or terminal illnesses, their families, and the staff members caring for them.

When asked to consult, the team will meet with the family (and patient, if age-appropriate) to discuss issues related to quality of life, symptom control, and family/patient preferences regarding care at various stages of illness. The consultation will be documented in the medical record using an established tool known as the decision making tool which will be available to all members of the health care team and to the patient/family.

All are invited to take advantage of this valuable service.
